Wow!! What a gorgeous lodge and a stunning location. A long journey but rewarded with spectacular scenery en-route. I could have sat for hours in front of that beautiful big window in the lounge just looking out across Loch Sunart, watching for otters and any other wildlife that made an appearance, such as the pine marten that visited to eat the cashew nuts I put out, or the three stags grazing on the hillside behind. We visited the most glorious white sand beach at Sanna, seeing many deer on the way. Brightwater lodge is a very special place and I just wish we had longer. We will be back!! PS. The binoculars were a godsend.

Such a fantastic place, we’ve been coming her for the last eight years and are so pleased the new owners (and property managers) have embraced the Macgregors ethos, and dare I say, built upon it, with a lovely welcoming package and attentive service. For us the lodge is a place to relax, we are never in a hurry to get out and about, we prefer to laze about in the morning, enjoying the property and watching the season and passing wildlife on the best screen Imax can’t buy. Following lunch – whatever the weather – it’s a trip to the many natural beauty spots within a 45 min radius. The beaches, the mountains, the woodlands are all there to be explored. A new discovery for us this year was the circular walk (silver walk) near castle Tioram, just past Acharacle. It takes in the beautiful scenery around Loch Moidart, crossing over moorland and through rocky (and boggy) terrain before dropping down through woodlands. It clocks in at around 6km and whilst tricky in places, should pose no threat to the average walker. We cant imagine a February without Ardnamurchan and hope to continue to return for the foreseeable future. Thanks so much

Another great time at Brightwater. Perfect weather for the beaches. Nice day on Mull. Castle Tioram – look inside! Nice week – altogether a perfect time. We love tranquility. Thanks for the welcome package and the tasty cake!....and for Christine and Ian’s assistance. Hope to be back next year.

First time to the area and Brightwater – totally blown away on both counts. We’ve had some beautiful walks, especially the Silver Walk and Castle Tioram. We really enjoyed Tobermory and the Fish Café! Walking from the lodge is lovely and Ben Hiant is a must to explore the ruined village. Thank you for the 5 * welcome hamper – what a lovely touch!

Another amazing holiday at Brightwater. Sitting outside in the evenings has been a novelty for us as we haven’t been in the summer for years. Had lovely visits to Bay McNeil and the lighthouse. Really good trip with Staffa Tours to Lunga and Staffa. Dolphins and Puffins were the highlights! Thank you to Christine and Ian for the amazing cake and welcome pack! ☺ Sad to leave all the wildlife. Wee Mouse coming nightly to eat peanuts on the wall behind the blue table. Saw Pine Marten once at 4am! Otter in bay always makes a special holiday. Thank you

We have been coming to Ardnamurchan for many years but this is our first time at Brightwater!. A fantastic place to stay with spectacular views – we’ll definitely return! A huge thank you the amazing welcome pack and surprise cake in the fridge, and to Christine and Ian for being super property managers. We will miss the two Badgers who visit the picnic table area at about midnight. Pine Martens were regular visitors to the table too and loved to nibble the peanut butter we smeared over the stick in the middle of the table – they visited at about 10pm. Both Badgers and Pine Martens were very fond of jam and peanut butter sandwiches which we put out for them each evening! Regular sightings of Porpoise and Otters in the bay too! Hope to return next year! Thank you PS We saw an Otter on the first night

Wow! What an amazing place/house. Wonderful views over the loch. Wildlife in abundance – Badger, Pinemartens, Mice, Dolphins, Seals. Pinemartens love peanut butter/Weetabix/jam! Welcome hamper was lovely, thank you. Visitor centre just down the road served great food. Again thank you.

Well... what a wonderful place! I honestly can’t explain the feeling when you walk through the door and see the view through the picture window – amazing to be able to sit and watch the change in weather, time of day….just soaking it up. We came to unwind and relax and Brightwater Lodge has certainly worked! Ardnamurchan is a beautiful place to explore the wildlife, and stunning views around every corner have had us hooked, and I am sure we will be back for more. We have had a wonderful time here, the lodge is perfect! Lovely welcome pack, cosy, wonderful views and nightly visits from mice and badgers (as long as you leave out some food!) We have loved watching the birds on the tree in front of the lodge, keep the feeders stocked up – they are ravenous! Saw Otters, Golden Eagles, Herons, Pine Marten and Deer. Visited Castle Tioram – spectacular, Sanna Bay – beautiful. Tobermory has lovely shops and cafes. Kayaking with Karl (Otter Adventures) 10 out of 10! Visitor centre has yummy cake and a very interesting exhibition. We have fallen in love with Ardnamurchan and hope to return soon. Thank you!

Wonderful scenery and spectacular views – we will certainly miss looking out onto Loch Sunart. Probably one of the best lodges we have stayed in and very well presented. Thank you for the welcome basket and excellent cake! So much was thoughtfully provided (milk, bread, coffee, home-made jam, Prosecco, cake etc) Highlights were Sanna Bay and Mull.

Our first visit to Ardnamurchan and we will certainly return. Brightwater Lodge is the perfect retreat from a busy life back home. Watching a family of Otters playing in the water and the rocks beneath the lodge was a brilliant start to the day. We travelled to Tobermory as foot passengers and enjoyed the best Fish Restaurant we have ever experienced….Cafe Fish – on the pierhead. A welcome safe haven from the squally gales and rain was a trip to Ardnamurchan Distillery – well worth it.

This was our first visit here and we will be returning! The lodge is beautiful and the views are fantastic, even when it’s raining! Every need is catered for, and there are some lovely touches such as the gowns, slippers and bath oils. The welcome basket was really nice and made us feel quite at home after a long drive. Also the DVD’s, books and games are a great idea and the binoculars are brilliant when having a morning cuppa looking for birds and wildlife. Unfortunately we didn’t see any Otters, though this may be due to the rough weather we had. We did see a beautiful Stag on our way back from Ardnamurchan Lighthouse (well worth a visit) and Deer in the road at night coming back from Salen Hotel (nice for a reasonably priced meal). We visited several times the Natural History Exhibition and Information Centre (2 mins left out of drive) for a coffee and they do a lovely breakfast. Thank you to Christine and Ian for making us welcome, and Meryl and Budgie for letting us come to stay.

Absolutely Fabulous !! We holidayed with Betty, a 92 year old disabled lady. The facilities for Betty’s needs were excellent, the lodge is very wheelchair friendly and the spacious downstairs bedroom and very large wetroom made life much easier. We went to Fort William, Sanna and the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. Betty thoroughly enjoyed the scenic drives, and was very happy to spend a few days just enjoying the spectacular views from the lodge, watching the ever changing light and reflections on the sea and mountains. Plenty of visitors came to see us….Pine Martens, Badgers, a variety of birds, and we were fortunate to see some Otters playing in the loch, and quite a few Deer. Superb lodge, excellent welcome hamper and delicious home made cake from Christine. Christine and Ian were very helpful in attending to our needs for Betty. Would highly recommend Brightwater, especially for a disabled guest.

Went out some days for walks and visits to a few of our regular haunts but were more than happy to return to the lodge and camp out on the comfy seats with binoculars! The lodge had everything we needed (and more) and is well deserved of it’s 5 * status. The extra touches were much appreciated and made us feel so welcome, especially the home made cake and jam and the dog treats! Thanks to all for a lovely break. Hope to return soon.

Excellent first trip to Ardnamurchan. Thoroughly enjoyed visit. Lodge is beautiful and well equipped throughout and extremely comfortable. Rest of the family stayed in Aspen so worked extremely well between the two properties. We will be back! Thank you! PS Thank you for the lovely welcome pack. A really nice surprise.

I had such a good time here. I shared a room with my sister Kerri, I also had porridge or crumpets with Nutella for breakfast. But one time I had pancakes which was sooooo tasty. On one of the days we drove to Sanna beach which if you didn’t know already is a lovely sandy beach with lots of big sand dunes which me and Kerri loved to slide down. The beach also had lots of rocks to climb on or you could hide behind, or if you are a person like me you would just sit on them and look at the shimmery sea for Otters. That’s what I like to do, Otter spotting. Anyway I went for an amazing walk along the coast and saw and ate some blackberries which were so tasty. I really enjoyed my stay and I hope that I will come back.

Lovely to still be able to come back to Brightwater even after the sale of it, and still as special as ever. The welcome pack and Christine’s cake making skills were really appreciated. Seemed to be more wildlife on the peninsula that we’ve seen before if that is possible.

Great chillout week. No sign of the Pine Marten, although the eggs and peanut butter were always gone in the morning! Golden Eagle sighting from the lodge. Glenuig Inn at Glenuig – fab for food – it states open all day – every day – all year – well worth a visit. Many thanks
